- Common Ground Alliance
Whether you are a facility owner or operator, locator, design professional, One-Call Center employee, excavator, contractor, or other stakeholder, ensuring the safety of those who work or live in the vicinity of underground facilities and protecting vital services is everyone’s responsibility. The Common Ground Alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to shared responsibility in damage prevention and promotion of the damage prevention Best Practices identified in the Common Ground Study Report. Building on the spirit of shared responsibility resulting from the Common Ground Study, the purpose of the CGA is to ensure public safety, environmental protection, and the integrity of services by promoting effective damage prevention practices. - Gas Technology Institute (GTI) provides energy and environmental products and services with a focus on natural gas. Programs of this kind allow organizations to out-source all or part of their technology function and implement technology solutions to gain competitive advantage.
- The DCA Trenches & HDD Committee is a trade association established in 1991 to promote the interests of the directional crossing industry and to educate the public regarding the issues critical to the development of the industry. The assets of the DCCA were absorbed by the Distribution Contractors Association (DCA), which now operates the DCA Trenchless & HDD Committee to continue this work.
- The Midwest Energy Association (MEA) is a consortium of energy industry organizations that pursue operational excellence by providing training and information resources for themselves and other organizations to enhance employee safety, productivity, and positive customer relations. By offering training seminars, conferences and roundtables, MEA provides member companies and organizations with the opportunity to share information and guide the industry.
- The Pipe Line Contractors Association was established in 1948 and negotiates labor agreements, encourages safe practices in pipeline construction and seeks the resolution of problems common to all those in the industry. The Association negotiates and administers the National Pipe Line Agreements (collective bargaining labor contracts) with the International Unions representing the four crafts of employees involved in pipeline construction (Laborers International Union of North America, International Brotherhood of Teamsters, United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters and the International Union of Operating Engineers).
- The American Petroleum Institute (API) provides a forum for all segments of the oil and natural gas industry to pursue public policy objectives and advance the interests of the industry. As a major research institute, API supports these public policy positions with scientific, technical and economic research.
- The American Gas Association (AGA) represents 189 local natural gas utilities that deliver gas to 54 million homes and businesses in all 50 states. Additionally, AGA provides services to member natural gas pipelines, marketers, gatherers, international gas companies and a variety of industry associates. The American Gas Association advocates the interests of its natural gas utility members and their customers, and provides information and services promoting operational excellence in the safe, reliable and cost-competitive delivery of natural gas.

- The Distribution Contractors Association is a nonprofit, professional trade organization of regular member utility contractors and associate member equipment manufacturers, suppliers and service providers. Through these members, DCA strives to promote the distribution construction industry while providing a reasonable assurance of the skill, integrity and responsibility of its member contractors.

Oregon Links
- Oregon Utilities Coordinating Council is dedicated to promoting the organized planning and installation of underground facilities, and to the protection of those substructures once placed.
- Lane Utility Coordinating Council is a non-profit organization of utilities, government agencies, contractors, and vendors in Lane County, Oregon promoting the call-before-you-dig law and one-call number. LUCC coordinates street encroachments between various utilities to ensure efficient use by all parties. Regular meetings are scheduled on the 1st Thursday of each month at Sizzler’s in Springfield.
